I was very proud of myself that I could handle many communications at a time and I could do many things like reading blog, chatting with friends, chatting with multiple clients, replying to emails, updating twitter, checking FB, preparing project estimations, talking on phone, etc. (few of them at a time).

The handling is easy, I keep switching the tabs/windows of the browsers, documents and chat windows and like a processor give all the tasks a little time and then switch to another one. While searching on Google, many times, I wondered how some of the bloggers were getting their picture along with the Google search result. I thought 'wouldn't it look too cool if I also got my picture along with the search result for my blogs?'. Recently, on radio, I heard an ad that Google has launched a service to provide websites for Small businesses absolutely at no cost. As it was promoted by Google I thought to see what it actually was and so I landed on http://www.indiagetonline.in. On website I found that it was a joint venture of Google and Hostgator (one of the biggest hosting provider). As the names are big I thought it couldn't be a scam.

So to try it out, I started with the registration and selected a domain to register. The domain was available so on next step it asked for Personal Information, Business Information and Login details. As per their policy user must provide PAN (permanent account number) / TAN (Tax deduction Account Number) / CIN (Corporate Identity Number) to complete the registration. Once I accepted the terms and condition I was registered and I received an email with login details. One thing I noticed that, though it asked for password on registration page, it sent completely different username and password in the email. So I guess the password they are asking during registration process is irrelevant (will anyone at google india/hostgator india like to take care of this? ;) ). Read more »

Last month facebook rolled out many new features to enhance the communication between users and indeed the video chat and the other features are great but I am seeing that people are complaining a lot about new facebook chat bar. The main reason is that we can’t view all the online users in the chat bar. Rather it displays some friends randomly and it would be impossible to view all the users as there is no scrollbar and our computer screen height is limited :-).
